Special report: Life without power in Ky...

CNN
About this episode

Thousands of households are without power in Ukraine's capital Kyiv. The country's leaders say that because Russia can’t defeat them on the battlefield, they’re trying to break them at home instead. So how do the people of Ukraine get by without reliable access to water, heat or power – while knowing winter is coming? Christiane meets with residents and business owners in Kyiv to see how they’re adapting. Following her report, she speaks with the UN's resident coordinator in Ukraine Denise Brown, who oversees the global response to the acute humanitarian needs of the people in the country.

Also on today's show: Anne Applebaum, staff writer for The Atlantic; legal scholars Geoffrey Stone and Lee Bollinger on the threat to affirmative action.
