20. Words of wisdom for special educatio...

Emily Muccianti
About this episode

Teaching is a calling.  At least it was for me.  I was a senior in high school and volunteered for our local Special Olympics track and field event.  From the moment I stepped off of the bus and our teacher buddied us up with our pals for the day, I was hooked!  I was given so much responsibility to watch over, play with, and connect with my little buddy.  She was non verbal and in a wheel chair and had the most beautiful smile!  I was smitten!  I knew by the end of that day what my life goal was to be - I would be a special education teacher.  I was sure of it.

I’ll tell you more about my journey and a few nuggets of wisdom in this episode.
