Desiderata " (Latince: "istenen şeyler"), Amerikalı yazar Max Ehrmann tarafından 1920'lerin başlarına ait bir düzyazı şiiridir .
1933'te şiiri bir Noel kartı biçiminde dağıttı ve "Desiderata" adını verdi. 1942'den birkaç yıl önce bir kadın, psikiyatrist Merrill Moore'a şiirin yazarın adı olmayan bir kopyasını verdi ve II.Dünya Savaşı sırasında hastalar ve askerlere 1000'den fazla atıfta bulunulmamış kopya dağıtmasına izin verdi. Ehrmann 1945'te öldükten sonra, eşi ilk olarak eseri 1948'de The Poems of Max Ehrmann'da yayınladı. Rahip Frederick Kates 1959 veya 1960 yıllarında Baltimore'daki Old Saint Paul's Kilisesi'nde cemaate atıfta bulunulmamış yaklaşık 200 kopya dağıttı. Metin, 1960'larda ve 1970'lerde poster olarak yaygın şekilde dağıtıldı. 1967'de Robert L. Bell, eserin telif hakkını Ehrmann'ın yeğeni ve varisi Richard Wright'tan satın aldı.
