For this Out Take, we were very excited to celebrate the release of ‘BROS’, the highly anticapted and much discussed romantic comedy about two gay men maybe, possibly, probably, stumbling towards love. With this film, Billy Eichner is the first openly gay man to co-write and star in his own major studio film that features an entirely LGBTQ+ principal cast.
We kick off with revisiting our interview with Billy Eichner from May where we discussed how ‘BROS’ came to be, why he was so excited for this film to be out in the world and why queer representation on camera and behind the scenes was so important for this film.
We also featured an exclusive in-person interview with Nicholas Stoller, following the recent Melbourne premiere of BROS, to talk about his work on the film as co-writer and director plus we got the scoop on his favourite music moment in the movie too – happy to report that it involves Kylie Minogue!
We also review the film and give you multiple reasons to check it out as soon as you can (in no paritucler order – it’s funny, Luke Macfarlane, the great soundtrack, all of the celebrity cameos, the great cast, the very relatable dating scenarios, how wonderfully queer and camp it is and oh, did we mention it’s really funny?). BROS is in Aussie cinemas from October 27.
