Des métaux étranges aux trous noirs : autour des modèles SYK

Le cours de cette année concerne des systèmes quantiques dans lesquels les excitations de basse énergie ne peuvent être décrites en termes de quasiparticules. Les propriétés de transport de ces systèmes sont inhabituelles et différentes d'un liquide de Fermi usuel (« métal étrange »), avec par exemple une résistivité dépendant linéairement de la température. La dissipation dans ces systèmes est « Planckienne », c'est-à-dire aussi rapide que le permet la mécanique quantique. Le cours portera sur une classe de modèles introduits par Sachdev et Ye, puis Kitaev (SYK) et leurs généralisations, qui permettent de comprendre ces phénomènes dans un cadre théorique précis. De plus, une correspondance remarquable a été établie entre ces modèles et certaines théories de la gravitation quantique. Ces aspects seront plus particulièrement abordés dans le cadre de quatre conférences invitées par le professeur Subir Sachdev (Harvard University).
