Dr. MeLanie Modjoros is an Internist/Womens' Health Specialist who pivoted to a career as a sex therapist. In 2014, she founded Sexual Health Consultants, a sex therapy practice dedicated to healing sexual dysfunction and promoting sex positivity. Her additional training has included Certification in Sex Counseling from AASECT (American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists) as well as Certification as a Professional Hypnotist from the ICBCH (International Certification Board of Clinical Hynotherapy). Dr. Modjoros provides therapy to individuals and couples who have challenges with sexual identity, sexuality expression, desire, arousal, compatibility, and/or redefining sex in the context of changing health or illness (pregnancy, aging, cancer, chronic pain). She uses traditional counseling modalities as well as hypnosis to help her clients release shame, guilt, and anxiety, which clears the pathways for them to reach their personal goals. Dr. Modjoros is also passionate about teaching sex positivity and providing education about how the mind and body interact to create the sexual experience. She frequently presents on the mind-body connections and management of anxiety and sexual challenges at local, national, and international conferences. Her mantra is "Sex is a gift from your body to you."
