Building A Formula Student Team - David ...

Jousef Murad
About this episode

David Movitz is a mechanical engineer with a passion for leadership, problem solving and teamwork. While studying at the University of Iowa, he founded the Iowa Formula racing team, a student organization that designs, manufactures, and races an electric formula race car for international competitions. As Team Principal, he grew the team to over 50 members and led them to compete within their first year, an accomplishment few teams have achieved. David currently works for a 3D printing manufacturer, Impossible Objects, as an Applications Engineer. He works with companies to create stronger and lighter parts made from carbon composite materials using a patented 3D printing process. While focused on 3D printing today, David studies new technological innovations with the intention of creating his own start up in the future.
