Sultana Alireza raised four children, three of which developed hearing impairments early in life. In 1991 she was inspired along her husband to establish the Jeddah Institute for Speech and Hearing (JISH), a non-profit organization to help people young and old with a variety of communication disorders achieve their maximum potential.
