Dr. Domingo Cabreja earned his medical degree from the Iberoamerican University School of Medicine, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, in 2018. As a medical student he was involved in clinical research focused on the effects of radiosurgery to the optic apparatus in patients with perioptic tumors. In early 2019 he joined Dr. Quinones-Hinojosa at the Mayo Clinic in Florida as a visiting physician and subsequently joined his laboratory as a visiting research fellow.
His research focused on the influence of supramarginal resection on the survival of glioblastoma patients. In 2020, he became a research fellow in cerebrovascular neurosurgery under the mentorship of Dr. Rabih G. Tawk. During his time at the Mayo Clinic Florida, Dr. Domingo has contributed to over 45 peer-reviewed manuscripts, several conference presentations and book chapters, obtained multiple intramural and extramural grants, and submitted a provisional patent application for a novel endovascular device.
