It was just before dawn on April 7th 1994 at the Holly Park apartment complex in Arlington Texas when the residents of one of the buildings were evacuated due to a blazing fire that had started in one of the units. It was a three alarm blaze that damaged eight units and left twenty people displaced, but as the tenants stood outside, huddling together and watching the flames engulf their home, they noticed that someone was missing. 19 year old Missy Grubaugh was not standing amongst them, but her neighbors saw her car in the parking lot. The fire department was able to get the fire under control within an hour so they could locate the source, but they did not anticipate what they would walk in on. Missy was found laying on her bed, naked, and stabbed multiple times through the heart, and police believed that whoever had killed her had started the blaze to cover their tracks and to destroy evidence.
