S2EP5: Limitations Are Only Real If You ...

Veterans Health Administration
About this episode
Are you living a life based on the memories of your missteps or are you living a life with a vision of your future in mind? On this episode, Dr. Shari Dade spends time with Mr. James Douglas the Associate Director for the VA West Texas Health Care System. In his role, Mr. Douglas is responsible for the administrative operations of the Health Care System to include Fiscal and Engineering oversight.

Listen in for a discussion on how to still achieve success when you feel limited by their failures, situations, and circumstances.

Key Lessons:
1) Do the work with the love of people in the forefront. When you see the people in the work, the titles won’t matter but what will matter is the lives we impact.
2) When we're put in uncomfortable situations it may allow us to see things differently and in ways that will help us grow.
3) When you enter the VA Enterprise, don’t leave if you feel you have limits. Instead, chart your path and look for the people who will support you as you gain more resources to push past those limits.
