Episode 136 Part One: Jerry Butler

Sam Williams
About this episode
This week I'm bringing to you one of my all time FAVORITE 60's R&B/Soul Records, one that a lot of people don't know but it's REALLY good. probably one of the best that came out of that decade. and it's one that has a relatable concept that I think everyone has experienced at least once in their lives and has been used time and time again in huge Pop songs after this song has been written, and it has a really cool groove and arrangement and in next week's episode, I'm going to talk about the sound that evolved from a record like this and how a huge recent pop smash influenced this song whether directly or indirectly. here's the link to this week's song just in case you wanted to listen to it:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ykup4vetvmw

Please do check out my recent interview I did with a really cool publication called Honk Magazine, here you'll be able to really get to know me as a creative individual but you'll also get a good glimpse into my past and where I come from and how I got to where I am today. here's the link to it just in case you wanted to read it:

You Can also follow me and reach out to me on Instagram right here:

Please do also check out my current singles and Pre save my upcoming EP which is coming out at the end of this month on the 28th, I would really appreciate it if you could do that as my music showcases a different part of myself which is often not showcased on my podcast, but it also tied into my podcast as well because all of my songs are influenced by the music I talk about on my podcast. but this part of myself showcases a more personal side to me that is related to the songs I write. here's the link to where you can check out my previous singles plus pre save my next album if you have Spotify, and if you pre save it, it will also be delivered straight to your music library as well:

Please do also check out the official Spotify and Youtube playlists for my podcast, there you'll be able to find all of the songs I have talked about on my show so far including some of the ones that I have mentioned in interview episodes of my podcast. if you found some cool songs on there that you haven't heard before and want to suggest me some new songs to my podcast that I haven't done yet, please email those ideas to me at samltwilli@icloud.com or you can also reach out to me on Instagram @iheartoldies:

Please do also check out the Official Redbubble Merch store for this podcast. there you'll be able to find these super cool merch items that have my own logo specifically for this podcast. it's the catchphrase I say at the end of my podcast in Keep On Trucking Tie Dye Font with the name of my podcast on the bottom, and if you like this logo and decide you would like to purchase something from this store, please email me at samltwilli@icloud.com or you can also reach out to me on Instagram @iheartoldies:
