Why Unions are Making a Comeback

CNN
About this episode

The Amazon Labor Union made history when it won its election at the JFK8 facility in Staten Island — but they aren’t the only ones organizing. Petitions to form unions were up nearly sixty percent between October 2021 and March 2022! What does it take to form a union, and what does this mean for the future of work in the United States? Delyanne Barros talks to Tristian Martinez, a lead organizer with the Amazon Labor Union, and Alejandro Ortiz, a former National Labor Relations Board attorney who also helped unionize his current workplace, the American Civil Liberties Union.
