How cities lead the transition to a circ...

Ellen MacArthur Foundation
About this episode

What role do cities play in the transition to a circular economy?

Currently, cities consume of 75% of the world’s natural resources and emit 60-80% of global greenhouse gas emissions in the linear system.

It’s estimated that two-thirds of the population will be living in cities by 2050, so it’s vital that cities tackle the issues of the current take, make, waste economy.

In this episode we’ll hear from the Ellen MacArthur Foundation’s Cities Lead, Sarah O’Carroll, who will guide us through how cities can benefit from switching to a circular economy.

We’ll also be joined by representatives from our three Strategic Partner Cities-London, New York City, and São Paulo-about the work they are doing to advance the circular economy and mobilise systems solutions.
