Today I wanted to talk about the trajectory of this podcast and my new book, which has the working title ‘There’s More to Life,’ which means there’s more to life than just Facebook likes, Instagram follows, or social media clout. According to studies I cite here in this episode, social media elicits a similar response of dopamine trigger and reward as drugs do. This is creating an emptiness in the lives of so many millennials I speak to today who find themselves wandering through life with little to no purpose. When asking people who are more God centered, or family centered, what they want out of life, the responses I get are typically a lot more purposeful and meaningful as opposed to those who do not value these things as much. I want to provide some answers and solutions to how you can figure out who you are, what you stand for, and what your mission statement is in this world.
