About this episode

Mountaineer Alyssa Azar conquered Kokoda at 8 years old, the Aussie ten peaks at 10 and Kilimanjaro at 14; and as if that wasn’t enough, at 19 she became the youngest ever female Australian to summit Everest. But though Alyssa was a skilled lifelong climber and physically fit, Everest threw up a huge challenge for her. While climbing it, she got trapped in an avalanche and found herself having to call on techniques she had learned to build her mental and physical strength, in order to save her own life. Hosts Action Alexa and Jenna Louise sit down with Alyssa to find out what she did to survive this ordeal, how she trained to climb the world's highest mountain and what skills we can adopt in our own lives in order to stay calm in the worst situations.
