经书和子书都熟读,融汇贯通之后,接着开始读诸史;考究各朝各代相承的脉络关系,了解王朝盛衰兴亡及原因,才能从历史中吸取教训。
从伏羲、神农开始,到轩辕黄帝,后人尊称为三皇,这三位所处在上古时代。
传说唐尧、虞舜,号称二帝,他们相继选择贤能的人,禅让王位,史称太平盛世。
夏朝的开国君主为治水的大禹,商王朝的建立者是成汤,周朝有周文王和周武王,这是受人称颂的三王。
