About this episode

This Monday was International Women’s day, and theme of the day is #ChooseToChallenge.

So on today’s show we’re choosing to challenge why fintech app assistants are overwhelmingly female, what this means for the industry and particularly for the view of women in the industry, and whether app assistants should have a name or a gender at all.

Sarah Kocianski hosts a fantastic panel of guests to dig deep into this. We were joined by:

  • Emily Nicolle - Fintech correspondent, Financial News
  • Soledad Abad - UX and content designer, BBVA
  • Elise Nunn - Head of Product Data at Plum
  • Amanda Cercas Curry, PhD student Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh and co-host of the podcast Let's Chat Ethics
