Inter’s three Germans

THE ATHLETIC
About this episode

Jimbo, James Horncastle and special guest Rafa Honigstein examine the three legendary Germans who made Inter record-breakers at the turn of the 90s.

Lothar Matthaus, Jurgen Klinsmann and Andreas Brehme were an integral part of West Germany’s World Cup winning side in 1990. They would all join forces at San Siro, with Matthaus and Brehme contributing to an Inter title win achieved with a record points total, and Klinsmann helping to capture the UEFA Cup too.

We look at a trio that helped define a time when Serie A was the true superpower of European football.
