When an alternative medicine doctor was found bludgeoned to death in her Bonita Springs, Florida home
in the summer of 2015, friends and neighbors worried a burglar was on the loose, looking for his next
random victim. Detectives with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office told the public that Dr. Teresa Sievers had
been bashed in the back of the head after returning home early from a trip with her husband and two
daughters. An online sleuth group wondered if Dr. Sievers’s death was connected to that of several other
alternative medicine doctors throughout the country who had also died under mysterious circumstances in
recent months. The slain doctor’s husband, Mark, had an airtight alibi. Who killed Dr. Sievers and why?
