Clippers Aren't Clutch, Kawhi's Next Mov...

iHeartPodcasts
About this episode

On today's episode, Producer Rob G joins Jason for a little wall-to-wall NBA conversation. First, it's clear that the Los Angeles Clippers still lack the clutch gene necessary to become a legitimate title contenders. They folded like a cheap tent down the stretch on Sunday against the Milwaukee Bucks, just like they did against the Denver Nuggets in The Bubble last season. They're frauds. Period. All of these leads to one obvious question: What does this mean for the future of Kawhi Leonard? Kawhi has built up this reputation that he's a LeBron James-level team builder thanks to that 'fortunate' NBA title he won in Toronto, but so far that couldn't be further from the truth. Perhaps his future lies outside of the Clippers, somewhere where he won't be asked to build the team, somewhere that already has a strong foundation in place, somewhere like... The Phoenix Suns. Speaking of the Suns, Jason and Rob G are at odds over just how good Devin Booker really is. Last week LeBron called Booker 'the most disrespected player' in the NBA, but do the numbers back that up? How much credit does he really deserve for the Phoenix turnaround this season? It's a debate that should get your blood boiling. Later, the guys do a deep dive into which teams are the biggest threats to the Brooklyn Nets in the Eastern Conference. Jason says a healthy Boston Celtics squad with Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown is the only team with the requisite wing defenders to slow down the Nets, while Rob G says his money is on Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers. Only time will tell which man is right.
