Tom Brady Wins his 7th Super Bowl, Bill ...

About this episode

On today's episode, Jason brings you wall-to-wall reaction to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers demolition of the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl. The night's big winner? Tom Brady, of course. Brady's 7 rings are now more than any team in NFL history. The game turned on a series of bad calls but that wasn't the difference in the game; the Bucs were clearly the better team on Sunday. Interestingly enough, on a night when the Chiefs failed to scored a touchdown for the first time in Patrick Mahomes' NFL career, the biggest loser was a guy who wasn't involved in the game at all: Bill Belichick. Not only did Brady earn his first Super Bowl ring away from Belichick, but he did it flanked by a pair of former Patriots (Rob Gronkowski and Antonio Brown) and a running back they picked up for free (Leonard Fournette). Had Belichick treated Brady better in New England maybe he would've been the one holding the Lombardi trophy on Sunday night. From the Chiefs perspective, the one boiled down to one simple problem: the offensive line couldn't block a damn thing. Mahomes made a few spectacular plays but even he couldn't overcome the human turnstile up front, or the dropped passes by his receivers, or the back-breaking penalties by his defense. It really was just an embarrassingly bad performance from the Chiefs all around. On a macro level, maybe the Bucs suffocating win provided the blueprint for beating Mahomes and the Chiefs in the future, and maybe their Super Bowl victory will inspire other teams to push all-in on a franchise quarterback of their own. Either way, we can assume the NFL offseason will be more entertaining than Super Bowl 55 was.
