With travel curtailed due to the pandemic, consumers are shifting spending to material luxury items, which favors diamonds, said Paul Zimnisky, industry analyst.  

Early last monthy Zimnisky recorded Kitco Roundtable podcast with Mining Audiences Manager Michael McCrae, Kitco correspondent Paul Harris and editor Neils Christensen.

"If you look at Signet Jewelers--the largest jewelry company in the U.S.--they've raised sales guidance three times this year. I've never seen anything like this before," said Zimnisky.
