درست الطب وبدأت حياتها المهنية كأول طبيبة صومالية، جعلت عيادتها ملاذًا آمنًا للناس من الحرب والدمار.

حولت منطقة خالية إلى قرية للنازحين، أدارتها ودافعت عنها، واستقبلت الكثيرين فيها.
