The Case Against The Cry It Out Method w...

MICHELLE KENNEY, M. ED
About this episode

For many parents, the first six to twelve months of their baby’s life are probably one of the most stressful thanks to sleep deprivation. The emotional and physical toll of listening to your baby cry isn’t easy, but it’s important to realize that it’s just as stressful for them as their body and brain try to adjust to life outside of the womb.

For this week’s episode, I’ve invited Rachel, a pediatric sleep specialist, to share with us her experience and realizations with sleep training her baby, and how it isn’t as easy as tucking them into bed and calling it a night.

So listen in on this episode as Rachel shares her experience, and I offer ways to help ease this adjustment period!

Episode Highlights:

  • The Cry It Out Method and the psyche behind it
  • Rachel’s experience with sleep training her baby
  • The effects of The Cry it Out Method on a baby’s cognitive development
  • Applying Connective Parenting Methods and empathy to sleep training
