Food, Lesson 7 Intermediate level

Dalal & Amani
About this episode

In this episode you hear Amani tell you about her grocery list for this week. Here in Amman it is quite common to have the grocer's and the butcher's phone numbers. We call them up and ask them to prepare our order for the day. We also have food trucks passing by our houses and when we hear them driving by, we call them up to stop, because of course we have their phone numbers too! We like to know the people we buy our food from. For example, Dalal buys all her dairy products from Omar who drives by her house once a week. Doing the groceries is very serious business and we like to know the people and their produce.
