We have always found it confusing how in English there is only one word to refer to cousins and two words for nephews and nieces. It seemed so confusing as to how to explain whose children they are and whether from your maternal or parental side. We wonder, if your mother tongue is English, you have the same, but maybe the other way round? Do we seem to have too many words for cousins, nephews and nieces?
