The man known as lil’dave is a Philadelphia-based audio tastemaker who has made a name for himself by exposing people to soulful music in all it’s forms. Although his roots are in hip-hop, he is most widely known for his electronic escapades through house, broken beat, brazilia, acid jazz, funk and UK-inspired soul and rare groove. Through these genres, lil’dave defines his signature sound. lil’dave is a member of the highly respected DJ/production crew Illvibe Collective, who has released two solid albums and has thrown the legendary Bodyrock party for over 15 years.
He has been broadcasting for 2 decades on radio station WKDU 91.7FM, where he currently hosts the internationally known Eavesdrop Radio along with DJ Junior. As a recording artist, he has released music as lil’dave, Dali, with Illvibe Collective, and under his electronic alias, Osage, for record labels such as Record Breakin’ Music, Soulspazm, BBE Records, Tru Thoughts, Young Robots, Bastard Jazz, Luvbug, Exadoria and Swedish Brandy. In his relationship with the Record Breakin’ Music label he wears many hats, such as recording artist, remixer, artist development advisor, and graphic designer. He has worked with and remixed a diverse range of artists such as Selah Sue, J Cole, RJD2’s Icebird project, Lady Alma Ryat, Apt One, Joy Jones, Captain Planet, John Robinson, Foremost Poets, Laura Mvula, and more.
